Johnny Wayne Hampton

Johnny Wayne Hampton, 66, of Stephenville, died Saturday, August 3, 2013 in Fort Worth. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 6th at Cowboy Church of Erath County with Joe Howard Williamson and Werth Mayes officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Johnny Wayne was born on September 1, 1946 in Stephenville to Johnnie and Helen Parks Hampton. He married Barbara Richardson on February 5, 1964 in Stephenville. Johnny Wayne attended the Cowboy Church and was a lifelong resident of Erath County. He loved his family and many many friends, loved rodeo events, and especially children who were associated with rodeoing. Johnny Wayne was a Cowboy. He never met a stranger. Johnny Wayne is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Angie Yates of Stephenville, J. J. and Ricky Prince of Stephenville, Row Hampton of Stephenville; mother, Helen Hampton of Stephenville; brother, Ronnie Hampton and Rita of Stephenville; grandchildren Marty Hampton Yates of Stephenville and Kason Prince of Stephenville; nephews, E. R. (Ron) Hampton and Danny (Goat) Hampton; niece, Lisa Warren, and many many friends.
