Stephenville - John William Nunn, Sr., 88, died Thursday, November 17, 2011. Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, November 21, in Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Garden's of Memory Cemetery, Stephenville. The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday, 20 November, at the funeral home. He was born in Colorado, City, Texas to the late James P. and Emery Dulin Nunn. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was discharged in May 1946. He married Marjorie Nell Walker on Dec. 20, 1947. She was truly the love of his life. He graduated from the University of Texas and remained a dedicated fan. After teaching a short time, he worked as an Aero Engineer at General Dynamics for 34 years, focusing his talents on the development and production of various versions of the F-111. He was a passionate bridge player and an avid Republican. John was a member of West Side Church of Christ in Stephenville. For him, family was everything. He loved visits from his children, his grand children, and especially his precious great grand children, who became the light of his life. He loved family gatherings and couldn't wait to hear about the food to be shared. Although he had years of limited mobility, he never complained about his limitations. He exercised several times a week, went to bridge and church without fail. He loved life and lived it to its fullest. He has touched many lives over the years. He will be missed. Besides his parents, John Sr. was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie, his sister Josephine Nelson, his brothers, Thomas and Jetty Nunn, and his son, Mark Nunn. Survivors: His sister, Helen Mayes of Ft. Worth, his son, John Jr. of Stephenville, his daughter, Nancy Fouga of Ft. Worth, his daughter, Pam Carter and son-in-law David of Stephenville; grandchildren, Amber Patterson of Brock, Maddy Fouga of Ft. Worth, Jarrod Nunn of Ft. Worth, Casey Nunn, of Irving; great-grandchildren, Marjorie, Anna, and Lilly Patterson of Brock.
