John D. Latham

John D. Latham, 66, of Austin, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2009 in Austin. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 29, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Stephenville with Rev. Doug Miller officiating. Interment will follow at the West End Cemetery in Stephenville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday at Stephenville Funeral Home. John was born on November 13, 1942 in Austin. He married Andra Whitman on February 22, 1969 in Jasper, Texas. John served as a Captain in the U.S. Army and was a graduate of Sam Houston State University. He was a Grant Operations Supervisor with the Texas Homeland Security Grant Program part of the Governor's Division of Emergency Management. John has resided in Austin since 2000 and was a previous resident of Stephenville. He was a Methodist. Survivors include his wife Andra Latham of Austin; Daughter, Tiffany Latham; son, Ty Latham and wife Robin; granddaughter, Katlyn Taylor Latham; brother James Latham and wife Ermanna; sister, Carol Christian; sister-in-law, Donna Whitman; foster brothers, Kenneth Smith, and Daryl Smith; and nieces and a nephew.
