John D Easterly

John D. Easterly, 90 of Stephenville passed away on Friday, December 21, 2012 in Stephenville. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Huckabay Cemetery in Huckabay. Pallbearers for John will be Chris Bell, Whit Weems, Garrett Easterly, Skylar Bell, Fred Ortiz, and Drew Wells. Funeral services are under direction of Stephenville Funeral Home. John was born on June 5, 1922 in Kemp, Texas to Charlie and Lizzie Gregory Easterly. He married Ruby Irene Hasty on April 3, 1943 in Ballinger, Texas. John served his country proudly in the U.S. Airforce during WWII and Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Graham Street Church of Christ. John is survived by his wife, Ruby of Stephenville; two sons, Jim Easterly of Cottonwood, Alabama and Greg Easterly of Avon Lake, Ohio; two daughters, Susan Weems of Stephenville and Linda Bell of Stephenville; grandchildren, Jessica Easterly, Garrett Easterly, Molly Weems, Whit Weems, Chris Bell, Robert Bell, Robin Wells, and Renee Ortiz; twenty one great grandchildren; two sisters, Charlyn Rogers of Waco, and La Verne Watkins of Seattle, Washington John was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carson Easterly, Malcolm Easterly, Melvin Easterly, Acy Easterly; and sister, Ula Mae Hasty-Clemmer.
