Joe Dowell

Joe Dowell, 69, of Stephenville, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at his residence in Stephenville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 28, 2007, at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ed Dittfurth officiating. Burial will follow at Post Oak Cemetery near Glen Rose. Visitation will be held from 6 PM to 8 PM, Thursday evening at Stephenville Funeral Home. Joe was born January 21, 1938, in Glen Rose to the late Basil Matthew and Ora Belle Greer Dowell. He married Liddy Rose Srader, December 6, 1958. Joe was a water well driller, and a peanut farmer. He was a member of the Baptist Church, and had lived most of his life in Erath County. Survivors include his wife, Liddy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Dana Dowell of Stephenville, and Keith and Birgit Dowell of Taos Ski Valley, New Mexico; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Stephen Wilson of Stephenville; four brothers, Donald Dowell of Stephenville, Jarrell Dowell of Stephenville, Harold Dowell of Huckabay, and Carlos Dowell of Anderson, California; two sisters, Darlene Dowell of Stephenville, and Glenda Gillespie of Alvarado; grandchildren, Kristopher, Kory, and, Keaton Dowell, and Hannah Wilson; two great grandchildren, Makenzie and Kyler Matthew Dowell He was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Parker and Eddie B. Robbins; and two brothers, Foy Dowell and Hoyt ‘Doc' Dowell
