Jimmie Earl Stewart, 84, of Stephenville, died Wednesday, December 11, 2013 in Stephenville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 14th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with David Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Jimmie was born on January 3, 1929 in Altus, Oklahoma to the late John Ray and Lola Mae Jackson Stewart. He married Charlene Ruth Hyman on March 27, 1953 in Jal, New Mexico. Jimmie was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ. He was a section supervisor for production, storage, and sales of liquid products for 37 years with El Paso Natural Gas Company. He loved fishing and golf. Jimmie lived many years in Jal, NM, moved to Midkiff, TX in 1963, and to Stephenville in 1985. Survivors include his wife, Charlene; daughters, Catherine ‘Beverly' and husband Les Wilson of Keys, Oklahoma, Bonnie and husband Keith Davis of Stephenville; son, Russell and wife Kara Stewart of Liberal, Kansas; brother, Billy John Stewart of Lubbock; sister, Sandra Medley of Lubbock; grandchildren, Michelle and husband Jason Anderson, Cristyl and husband William Milburn, Eric Schlittler, Amy and husband Robert Dobbs, Aimee and husband Clint Bissett, Matthew Davis and wife Shanda King, Jonathan Caraway, Courtney and husband Justin Boles, Cameron Stout, and Alexis Stewart; 17 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Jimmie was preceded in death by sisters, Nelda Cox and Wanda Harrold; brothers-in-law, Charles Holland, Joe Cox, Jim Harrold, and Ray Medley The Stewart family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the New Mexico Christian Children's Home, 1356 NM 236, Portales, New Mexico 88130.
