Jimmie Smith

Jimmie Smith, 64, of Stephenville, died Sunday, January 22, 2012 in Stephenville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 26th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tom Konz officiating. After services are over, Jimmie will be cremated. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Jimmie was born on August 22, 1947, in Texarkana, Arkansas to the late Charlie K and Mindie Oleta Hill Smith. He served his country in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War serving on the USS Nereus. Jimmie was a patrol officer for the Stephenville Police Department in the 1970's and later served as Chief of Police for the Dublin Police Department. He laid flooring for several years beginning in 1968. Jimmie is survived by his significant other, Pat Weber of Stephenville; daughter, Diane Voit of Houston; sons, Robert Dale Smith of Bluff Dale, John Robert Weber of Stephenville, Edward John Weber of Stephenville, and Robert John Weber of Odessa; brothers, Johnnie Smith of Stephenville, and Danny Smith of Atlanta, Texas; sister, Bonnie Moye of Texarkana, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Jimmie was also preceded in death by a sister, Gwendia Nevins
