Jessie Mae Rogers

Jessie Mae Rogers, 79, of Stephenville, died Sunday, June 22, 2008 at Harris Methodist Erath County Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 25 at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Earl Baugh, officiating. Burial will follow at East Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home. Jessie Mae was born October 5, 1928, in Stephenville to the late Carl Prentice and Elsie Reagan Chapman. She married Earl T. Roger, March 7, 1953, in Stephenville, and he preceded her in death March 31, 1995. Jessie Mae was a member of Washington Street Baptist Church, and a life long resident of Stephenville. She work many years as a housekeeper at Tarleton State. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ella and Justin Grote of Dublin; granddaughter, Angie and husband Joe Emmert of Dublin; great grandchildren, Brayden Scott Emmert and Caleb Michael Burden; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James D. and Lou Chapman of Stephenville, and Harvey and Robbie Chapman of Stephenville; four sisters and brother-in-law, Patsy and Clifford Hicks of Granbury, Willa Dean Watson of Stephenville, Shirley Sue York of Morgan Mill, and Bernice Moseley of Burnett; sister-in-law, JoAnn Chapman of Stephenville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Katherine; a grandson, Joel Thomas Smith on June 19, 2002; and by 2 brothers and 1 sister Memorials may be made to the Washington Street Baptist Church.
