Jerry G. Wood

Jerry G. Wood, 76, died at home on August 5, 2014 from pancreatic cancer. Funeral service will be held 10:30 AM Saturday at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Dale Pugh officiating. Burial will follow at Hannibal Cemetery in Erath County. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the Stephenville Funeral Home. Jerry was born on October 16, 1937 in Carter County, Oklahoma to the late Jess and Alice Summers Wood. He married Janice Preston on December 17, 1955 in Gainesville, Texas. Jerry retired from Lockheed after 37 years to work the ranch life he loved. Survivors include his wife, Janice; two sons, Gary and wife Reggie Wood; Buck and wife Tammy Wood; grandchildren, Tonya, Russel, and Jessica; great-grandchildren, Reagan and Grant; niece, Margie; nephews Bill and Larry. He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Wood Davis. The family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to Huckabay Baptist Church, 398 CR 420, Huckabay, Texas.
