Jerry Weldon Kent, 79, of Stephenville, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019 in Stephenville.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, May 31, 2019 at the Stephenville Funeral Home.
Jerry was born on September 2, 1939 in Milburn, Oklahoma to the late Calvin D. and Della Mae Kent. He married the love of his life, Rita Warren, on June 6, 1970 in Carrollton, Texas and together they had a daughter. Jerry worked for many years as a bookkeeper in Dallas and later worked for Perry's Department stores before retiring from Raylock in Stephenville. He has resided in Stephenville since 1991.
Survivors include his wife of almost 49 years, Rita Kent of Stephenville; daughter, Leanne Kent of Stephenville; sisters, Lahoma Hendricks of Kenefic, Oklahoma and Christine Burchett and husband Johnnie of Ardmore, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by brothers Melvin Kent and Winfred Kent; sisters, Wyndol Payne, Arvella Abbott, and Jeanie Cole.
