Jay D. Griffin

Jay D. Griffin, 84, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2008. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday March 28, 2008 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Townsend officiating. Interment will follow at the Smith Springs Cemetery in Erath County. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Jay was born on November 2, 1923 in Erath County to the late Albert and Fannie Griffin. He married Lorene Falkner on March 18, 1944 in Stephenville and she preceded him in death on February 11, 2002. Jay has resided in Stephenville since 1964 after previously living in Fort Worth. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a Mechanic and a Farmer. Jay was a Baptist. Jay is survived by two sons, Dykes Griffin and wife Diane of Stephenville, and Larry Griffin and wife Marcia of Stephenville; grandchildren, Ashli Parham, Dykes Griffin II, Gordon Carroll; great-grandchildren, Dykes Edward Griffin III, McKenzi Parham, Miller Parham, Mace Parham; niece and nephews including, Karen Griffin Byrd of Waxahachie.
