Janie Powell-Cormier

Janie Powell-Cormier, 67, of Stephenville, died Wednesday, August 27, 2014. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 30, 2014 at West End Cemetery with Brother Werth Mayes officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Friday at the Stephenville Funeral Home. Janie was born on April 24, 1947 in Brenham, Texas to Earl and Viola Fuelburg Bright. She married Larry Cormier, on October 3, 2003 in Waco, Texas. Janie was a retired teacher with 28 years of service in the Texas public school system and a member of the Cowboy Church in Erath County. Janie is survived by her husband, Larry; son, Robert Rae Powell and wife Amanda of Leon Springs; father, Earl Bright of Brenham; sister, Brenda Budell and husband Mike of Brenham; nephews, Stacy Scheiner and wife Danielle, and Koy Scheiner, all of Houston. Janie was preceded in death by her mother Viola Bright.
