Janeth Kay (Giesecke) York

Janeth Kay Giesecke York, 73, of Morgan Mill, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023.

Funeral services for Janeth will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 30th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Frank Brisco officiating.  Burial will follow at Sap Oak Cemetery in Erath County.  Visitation with the York family will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday at Stephenville Funeral Home.

Janeth was born on September 10, 1949 in Hico, to the late Louis and Esta Mae Drury Giesecke.  She attended public school in Stephenville, graduating from Stephenville High School in 1968, and later attended Tarleton State University.  Janeth married David York, on August 20, 1971 in Stephenville.  She was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ, and was active with the Morgan Mill Church of Christ Ladies Bible Class.  Janeth was a wonderful cook, and an avid gardener.  She was a homemaker, and a lifelong resident of Erath County.

Janeth is survived by her husband of 51 years, David; son, Jason and wife Andrea York of Morgan Mill; daughter, Jennifer and husband Greg Nelson of Morgan Mill; sister, Helen Hatch of Stephenville; grandchildren, Brad Cahall, Anna and husband Eric Davis, Caitlin and husband Kory Davis, Lane and fiancé Macy Hall, Wyatt York, Jillian York, Clinton Nelson, and Abigail Nelson; great grandchildren, Liam Cahall, Blakley Davis, and Kayson Davis.

The York family wishes expression of sympathy be made in the form of donation to Foster’s Home for Children in Stephenville.
