James Williams July 1, 1923 - August 31, 2018 James Williams, 95, of Bluff Dale, passed away Friday, August 31, 2018 in Pasadena, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Monday, September 3, 2018 at the Rock Church Cemetery in Hood County with Gary Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday at the Stephenville Funeral Home. James was born on July 1, 1923 in Stephenville to the late Branch Vickers Williams and Zelle Osborne Williams. He was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Navy as an Airplane Mechanic. James retired to the Family farm, the old Cowan home place, in Bluff Dale, where he ranched for the past 30 years. Survivors include sons, Jerry Lee Williams and wife Sue of Wylie, and Ron Baker and wife Maxine of Pasadena; daughter, Vickie Zelle Williams and husband Larry Elder of Pasadena; grandchildren, Debbie Henson and husband Wesley, Jennifer Pruett and husband Will, Holly Garcia and husband Nacho, Justin Williams and wife Kelly, Jeremy Halford and wife Mindy, and Jennifer Martinez and partner Stephen Davis; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; as well as many loving family and friends. James was also preceded in death by his sister, LaRue Oakes.
