James Lawrence Parker

James Lawrence Parker, 82, formerly of Stephenville passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. James was born on April 2, 1932 to the late Marsh and Margaret Hannah Parker in Pouland, Oregon. He married Velma L. Parker on July 7, 1979 in Virginia City, Nevada. She preceded him in death on November 9, 2013. James was a member of the U.S. Air Force and worked as a custodian. He was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church and had lived in Chickasha, Oklahoma for 14 years. James is survived by his daughters, Jaime and husband John Throckmorton of Roseville, CA, Sherry Flynn of Sacramento, CA; step-children, Wendell and Sheryl Hunter of Alabama, Rita and John Mata of Chickasha, OK, Patricia and Ed Murphy of Monette, MO, Ronnie and Bonnie Hunter of El Reno, OK, Sandra DeLong of Chickasha, OK, Carolyn Herrera of Kansas, Lonnie and Tina Hunter of Calumet, OK; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
