James Roy Haddick, 62, of Dublin, TX made his journey home to be with the Lord on February 24th - 2010. He was born September 7th - 1947 in Fort Worth , TX to Roy & Nell (Stanford) Haddick. When he was 23 years of age he suffered a traumatic brain injury. He lost his ability to walk, talk & remember. It took years of therapy and hospitalization to regain some of his ability's. He never fully recovered from his accident. He suffered from seizure disorder & was later diagnosed with Parkinson's and COPD. The last years of his life were spent in Golden Age Manor Nursing Home in Dublin, TX. Before his accident he worked as a butcher and in construction. He was a Veteran of the US Navy. Jimmy, as his family called him, was raised in Stephenville and considered it home. He was an avid bicycle rider before Parkinson's. He loved Elvis, movies and music. He was a Christian and loved the Lord. He is survived by his sisters, Sherry Haddick Hall, of New Braunfels, TX and Janet Haddick Lira of Point Comfort , TX nieces, Sherry Robbins, Sunny Hairgrove, Jeniffer Wallace, Karen Cortez; and nephew, Roy Hall. He also had 8 great nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents Nell and Roy Haddick and brother -in law Jess Hall. A graveside service will be held at Corinth Cemetery in Stephenville at a later date. Memorials may be made in his name to Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. Donations@michaeljfox.org
