James (Jim) Evans

James Gordon (Jim) Evans, 70, of Morgan Mill, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014, in Muenster, Texas. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, July, 7 2014 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Rogers officiating. Burial: Morgan Mill Cemetery in Morgan Mill. Visitation: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday at the Stephenville Funeral Home. Jim was born on January 23, 1944 in Lubbock to Jeri Evans and to the late Raeford Evans. He married Doris Cason on December 31, 1999 in Stephenville. She preceded him in death on March 18, 2008. Jim attended Stephenville schools and was a member of Morgan Mill Baptist Church. He worked for many years in Garland in the semiconductor electronics industry. He and Doris moved back to Stephenville in 2001 where he worked for Saint Gobain until his retirement in 2009. Jim loved watching the Texas Rangers, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Jim is survived by his mother, Jeri Evans; daughters, Sara Kelley and husband Brian, Cecilia Holle and husband Scott, Jaimie Evan; and by his son, Cyrus Evans; grandchildren, Skyler, Bailey, Noah, Sophie, Brianna, James, Christian and Landry; brother, Hal Evans and sister, Janet Tucker and husband Jim; five nephews and one niece.
