James (Red) Alexander

James (Red) Alexander, 86, went home to Jesus on October 17, 2010 in Big Spring, Tx. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Lower Greens Creek Cemetery in Erath County with Military Honors. Visitation will be held from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday at Stephenville Funeral Home James (Red) Alexander was born on December 14, 1923 in Hico, Texas to the late Jim and Bessie Stevens Alexander. He served in the Navy during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post 0487 in Big Spring. Red was in the floor covering in Stephenville area all of his working life. He loved to hunt and fish. Red married his fishing buddy Betty in 1997. Survived by wife, Betty Chadwell Alexander; daughters, Donna and Don Stark, Regina and Earl Gooch, and Karla Chadwell Woolf; one son, James and Cathy Chadwell; two brothers, Earl Alexander and Rusty Alexander; one sister, Marie Thompson; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by daughter, Denna Alexander; parents Bessie and Jim Alexander; and sister, Mary H. Warren.
