Jacqueline E. (Cannon) Day, 76, formerly of Houston, Texas, died Monday, July 28, 2014, in Hico, Texas, after spending the last year valiantly and with dignity fighting ALS. Memorial services will be held at Park City Community Church, Park City, Utah at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Stephenville Funeral Home. Jacqueline was born on January 25, 1938 in Houston, Texas to the late Claude Frank, Jr. and Bettie Gassiot Cannon. She married Ben Thomas Day on June 2, 1961 in Houston. He preceded her in death in May, 1978. Jacqueline was a member of Park City Community Church in Park City, Utah. She grew up in the Houston area, spent many years in the Park City area, and had lived in Hico for the last six months. Jacqueline had a Master in Education, was retired from 30+ years as a principal and teacher. She loved to read, ski, picnic, travel, and play tour guide for many, especially while working at the Park City Visitor Center. Jacqueline was well known for her gentle spirit and sweet smile. Her family was everything to her. Jacqueline is survived by her daughter, Lisa Day and her significant other Robert Byers; son, Kurt Day and fiancée Megan Webb; sisters, Claudia Baker and husband John, Shirley Rogers and husband Russell; brother, Bubba Cannon; step-daughter, Debbie Alvarado and husband Roy; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Jacqueline was preceded in death by her step-daughter, Donna Lange; and step-son, Tommy Day.
