Jacob Randolph Dunbar, Sr., 86, died Friday, April 8, 2022.

Jacob Randolph Dunbar, Sr. was born on December 30, 1935, to the late Abram Kinard Dunbar, Sr. and Bertha Lilliam Dukes in Alexandria, Louisiana.

On January 31, 1955, Jacob married Dorthy Lee Dunbar in Hobbs, New Mexico. Dorthy and Jake lived in Hobbs, and move to Texas, living in Kermit, Odessa, McCamey and finally settling in Stephenville, Texas in 1974. The couple had three sons, Jacob Randolph (Karen), Billy Wayne (Linda), and Robert Lee (Louvinda). Robert preceded his father and mother in death on February 21, 2021.

Jacob was a “jack of all trades.” He was a butcher for twenty years, he worked, until his retirement, for the City of Stephenville Water Department and he raised cattle. When Jacob was not working, taking care of his cattle or spending time with family, he enjoyed being an active member of the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his children: Jacob Randolph (Karen), Billy Wayne (Linda); and, grandchildren: Chelsea, James, Tyler, and Jason; and, great-grandchildren: Kyra, Jordan, Emma, and Tristin.

Dorthy, and his son, Robert, preceded him in death.
