J. R. Trice

J.R. Trice, 89, of Lingleville, died Thursday, July 12, 2012 in Lingleville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Lingleville East End Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM Saturday at Stephenville Funeral Home. J.R. was born August 18, 1922 in Lingleville to the late John Russell and Myrtle Glass Trice. He married Luella Grantham on May 19, 1940 in Seminole. She preceded him in death on Saturday, December 17, 2011. J. R. served in the U. S. Army during WWII. He was a farmer and rancher, and a lifelong resident of Lingleville. J. R.'s passion was the guitar, and he loved playing and singing country music. Survivors include his son, David and wife Carol Trice of Lingleville; daughter, Patsy and husband Jim Coats of Stephenville; grandsons, Brian Trice of Houma, Louisiana, and Jeff and wife Christi Trice of Charlestown, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Katelyn, Kirbi, and Owen; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Trice family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the Lingleville Volunteer Fire Department, or to the charity of their choice
