J A Newman November 26, 1940 ~ November 21, 2017 J A Newman, 76, of Stephenville passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at his home. Service will be held at a later date. J was born on November 26, 1940 in Stephenville, Texas, to the late Jonathan Bedford Newman and Geneva Jones. He married Estelle Dunn on March 31, 1962 in Ft. Worth and she preceded him in death on March 19, 2010. J worked as a warehouse supervisor for Tarleton State University and was a longtime resident of Stephenville, TX. Survivors include his mother, Geneva Bradshaw of Comanche; children, Melinda Gay Carr of Houston, Andrea Janan Newman of Lamkin, Rhonda Newman Lewis of Houston, and John Jason Newman of Stephenville; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Jonathan Bedford Newman; son, Jimmy Newman; two brothers and a sister.
