Ila Faye (Franklin) Reed

Ila Faye Reed, 89, of Stephenville, passed away Friday, February 2, 2024 at her home with her children by her side.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Bluff Dale. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday at the Stephenville Funeral Home.

Faye was born on February 9, 1934 in Morgan Mill, Texas to the late Richard and Annie Franklin. She married the love of her life, LaFrance (Charlie) Reed on January 24, 1959 in Stephenville and together had three children. He passed away on April 10, 2021. Faye lived and attended school in Morgan Mill until the eighth grade before attending and graduating from Stephenville High School and worked as a File Clerk and a typist. She was also a devoted mother, wife, and a homemaker. She was a member of the Riverside Baptist church and has resided most of her life in Stephenville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Annie Franklin; husband, Charlie Reed; sisters, Alta Jackson, Frances Hyde, Betty Wiese, Louise Olree, and Katie McElreath; a brother William Wesley Franklin; and son in law, Johnny Davis.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda Davis of Stephenville, and Brenda Ernstes and husband William of Hamilton; son, Andy Reed and wife Teri of Ft. Worth; sister, Mae Gentry and husband Roy of Stephenville; grandchildren, Jason, Lacey, Tasha, Cortney, Nicole, Dewayne, Josh and Ashley; twenty two great-grandchildren; and brother in law, Lynn Olree of Granbury.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Wings of TX Hospice staff that helped with caring for Faye in her last days.
