Hula Mae Stewart

Hula Mae Stewart, a wonderful loving wife, devoted and beloved mother, treasured sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, stepped into the eternal presence of her Lord on Friday, February 11, 2011. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, February 13, 2011 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Derrel Thompson and Glenn Shock officiating. Interment will follow at the West End Cemetery in Stephenville. The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Hula Mae was born on April 14, 1934 in Hico, Texas to the late Travis and Pearl Howerton Holley. She married L.C. Stewart in Hico on February 6, 1951 and they recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. Hula Mae was a graduate of Hico High School and has resided in Stephenville for the past 60 years after previously living in Hico. She was a member of the Valley Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, L.C. Stewart; daughters, Cynthia Lovelace and husband David of Ennis, Connie Lowery and husband Roger of Stephenville, and Laura Iley of Stephenville; grandchildren, Angela Lovelace, Holly Barfield and husband John, Paul Lovelace, Stuart Lowery and wife Margie, Chad Lowery, Amy White, Dustin Hodge, Clayton Iley and Fiancée Jenny Elliott, and Amanda Iley; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Elson Holley, and Don Holley; sisters, Aranna Holley, Theresa Donaldson, and Valetta Dunlap. Hula Mae was also preceded in death by daughter, Karen Hodge Lueck in 2000. Memorials may be made to the Valley Grove Baptist Church Building Fund.
