Hugh Marr Ellison

Hugh Marr Ellison, 91, of Arlington, formerly of Stephenville, died Wednesday, July 15, 2015 in Arlington Memorial services will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday, July 19th at the First Presbyterian Church of Stephenville with Fred Babb and Doug McLemore officiating. Hugh was born on June 7, 1924 in Harrell, Arkansas to the late Hugh Caldwell and Helen Marr Pounders Ellison. He married Marilyn Sue Glass on August 20, 1955 in Dallas. She preceded him in death on April 18, 2010. Hugh received his BS degree in Business Administration, and a BS and Master's degrees in Music. Hugh was a school teacher, teaching at various schools in El Paso, San Benito, Littlefield, Midland, etc., and also at Cal State Fullerton University. His schools where he taught received numerous awards in music excellence. Hugh served his country in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He lived in Stephenville for nine years prior to moving to Arlington. Survivors include his son, Eugene Ellison of Arlington; daughter, Nona Ellison of Arlington; brother, Beecher Ellison of Grants Pass, Oregon; and grandchildren, Randal and Elias Ellison
