Horace D. Thompson, 86, of Lingleville, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023. He was born on September 4, 1936 to the late Herbert Earl Thompson and Minnie Mae Thompson in Stephenville, Texas. Horace lived in Erath County his entire life. Horace graduated from Lingleville High School in 1955 where he then went into the workforce. Horace was a very hard worker. He worked as a dairyman for over 30 years. Horace worked over 32 years at Fosters Home for Children, where he was a caregiver, and was head of the physical plant. The commissary at Foster Home was named The Horace Thompson Commissary, in his honor. He was the longest employee at Fosters Home prior to his retirement. Horace was also an active member of the Lingleville Church of Christ.
Horace leaves behind his son, Dwain and Kathi Thompson of Stephenville; grandsons Christopher Shane Thompson, Casey Joe Thompson; and granddaughter, Crystal Eberhart. Memorials can be made in his name to the Foster Home for Children.
The Foster’s Home for Children will host a memorial service for Horace at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 11th at The Grubbs Welcome Center on the Campus of Fosters Home
