Horace Lelon Christian

Horace Lelon Christian, 86, of Stephenville, died Thursday, May 9, 2013 in Stephenville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, May 13, 2013 at Stephenville Funeral Home, with Dr. Van Christian officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Dale Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Horace was born on March 21, 1927 in Gorman, Texas to the late William Warren and Ola May Chisum Christian. He married Vivian Rasberry on January 29, 1954 in Stephenville. He served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corps. Horace was a member of the Baptist Church, and American Legion. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved Country and Western Music and Dancing. Horace also loved Friday night Stephenville High School football. He worked over 20 years at Tarleton State University in the maintenance department. Horace is survived by his wife, Vivian; sons, Joe and wife Patti Christian, and Clay Christian all of Stephenville; daughter, Charlotte and husband Dennis Harris of Rowena; grandchildren, Jessica and husband Chad Hallman, Sarah and husband James Bolt, Will Christian, Heather Anderson, Erin and husband Jonathon Rittenhouse, Derek Harris, Cody and wife Ashley Christian, and Carl and wife Katie Christian; great grandchildren, Jaci Hallman, Jenna Hallman, Adaline Bolt, Caleb Anderson; and Sydney Bollum; sister, Luan Melton of Stephenville.
