Homer Jones

Homer L. Jones, 94, of Stephenville, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012 in Stephenville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 29th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel, with David Harris and Bob Kiser officiating. Burial will follow at Huckabay Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Homer was born on April 19, 1918 in Floyd County, Texas to the late Thomas Edgar and Lela Bell Williams Jones. He married Agnes V. Fron on January 31, 1942 in Stephenville. She preceded him in death October 1, 2006. Homer served in the U. S. Army during WWII. He was a member of the VFW, and DAV, a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ, a farmer, and was a lifelong resident of Erath County. Homer was a heavy equipment operator working over 30 years for both Erath County, and Texas Department of Transportation. Survivors include a son, David and wife Martha Jones of Amarillo, and a sister, Jessie Odean Stieglbaurer of Springtown. He was also preceded in death by four sisters, and one brother.
