Helen N (Nachtigall) Jones

Helen N Jones, 102, of Stephenville, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020.

Helen was born on October 4, 1918 in Duffau, Texas to Carl and Marie Nachtigall. She has resided in Erath County most of her life, moving to Hannibal and graduating from Huckabay High School as the Valedictorian. Helen worked for Wolfe Nursery and Cox’s Department Store before staying home to raise her daughter. She began working for many families in the Erath County area keeping house. All of these families became a part of her family and she continued to work until she was 84.

Survivors include her daughter, Joy Jones and husband George Miltenberger of Stephenville; many nieces, nephews, and a host of family by love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Marie Nachtigall; and eight siblings, Dorothy, Chris, Antonie, Martha, Bill, Ted, Minnie, and Robert.

At Helen’s request, do not send any flowers or plants, she requests that you do something nice for someone and tell them it’s from Helen. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time once we can all be together again.
