Hazel Etta Holder, 97, of Stephenville, died Monday, July 29, 2019 in Stephenville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 31st at Valley Grove Baptist Church with Weldon Branham and Ward Hayes officiating. Burial will follow West End Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Stephenville Funeral Home.
Hazel was born on March 31, 1922 in Erath County to the late Robert and Johnnie Penson Derrick. She married Alton C. Holder on November 18, 1939 in Stephenville. Alton preceded her in death on February 19, 2010. Hazel loved to garden, cook, and take vacations. Over the last few years, she spent much of her time embroidering pillows. Hazel was a 76 year member of Valley Grove Baptist Church, and a life long resident of Erath County.
Hazel is survived by her daughter, Lucretia Eller of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Wayland Edmondson of Fort Worth, Quata Baggett of Fort Worth, and Byron Edmondson of Stephenville; great grandchildren, Chad Robinson of Mineral Wells, Kevin Robinson of Maryland, Chris Nitschke of Aledo, Holly Glover of Fort Worth and Brooke Morris of Fort Worth; and twelve great great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Hazel was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
