Harry Alan Brown

It is with both earthly sorrow and heavenly rejoicing that our community bids farewell to
Harry Alan Brown, who passed away peacefully on Feb. 9 at the age of 78 in the
comfort of his wife's care at their home in Duffau, Texas.
Harry, born on June 21, 1945 to the late Pascal and Lucille Brown, dedicated his life to
the service of others, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those he touched. Harry
was preceded in death by sisters Margaret Ash and Bonnie Naul, and niece Tammy
Burden. After a long and fulfilling journey, Harry has now entered eternal rest.
Harry met his future wife, Carron Stuckey in 1964 when they were playing together in a
folk band.They married on June 3, 1966, and theirs was truly a marriage made in
Heaven. God blessed them with almost 58 years together in this life and eternity
together in the next life.
Harry's unwavering commitment to spreading love, compassion, and the teachings of
faith made a lasting impact on the Johnsville Church of Christ family where he
ministered for 12 years. Throughout his ministry there, he officiated countless weddings
and funerals, delivered countless inspiring sermons, and provided solace to many in
need. A life-long student of the Bible, Harry taught Bible classes for more than 30 years.
Harry graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1968 with a bachelor's
degree in aerospace engineering and began working at Kelly Air Force Base in San
Antonio, Texas. Drafted into the United States Army in 1969, he served as an officer in
Vietnam, receiving an honorable discharge in 1971 and soon after returned to work at
Kelly Air Force Base. In 1977, Harry earned a master's degree in logistics management
from the Air Force Institute of Technology in Dayton, Ohio.
From 1986 to 1988, Harry worked at the Pentagon and was primarily responsible for
development of military budgeting for the Air Force. In 2000, he retired after 30 years of
service as a civilian employee of the United States Air Force, and he and Carron moved
back to the family farm in Duffau, Texas.
Harry is survived by his beloved wife Carron Stuckey Brown, sister-in-law Martha
Stuckey Royal, nephews Dale Ash, Wendall Ash, Gary Burden, and Dean Royal, nieces
Cheryl McIntosh, Mary Stone, and Kelly Sullivan and a host of friends in Christ.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. at Stephenville Funeral
Home, 120 West South Loop, Stephenville, Texas. Visitation will be held at the funeral
home on Friday, Feb. 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. Interment will follow the funeral service at
Duffau Cemetery, 1400 County Road 214, Hico, Texas.
