H. B. Lane

H. B. Lane, 85, of Stephenville, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in Granbury. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dale Cartwright officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Dale Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. H. B. was born on September 19, 1925 in Crosbyton to the late Willie H. and Jewell McKinney Lane. He married Ellen Joan Holloway on October 24, 1947 in Erath County. H. B. served during WWII in the U. S. Navy, and attended Solid Rock Church. He has lived in Erath County most of his life. H. B. was a farmer and rancher. Survivors include his wife, Ellen; grandson, Steve and wife Melanie Lane of Stephenville; granddaughter, Belinda and husband Keith Starnes of Stephenville; sons, David Gary Lane and Houston Larry Lane; great grandchildren, Tyler Lane, Jaci Lane, Justin Egdorf, Brieanne Egdorf, and Shaelyn Egdorf. He was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Lane.
