Guyla Dean Davis, 91, of Stephenville went to meet her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 23, 2020.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, October 25th at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Howard Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Energy Cemetery in the community of Energy. Services are under the direction of Stephenville Funeral Home.
Guyla Rudd Davis was born on February 8, 1929 in Energy, Texas to the late Gus and Ola Horner Rudd. She married the love of her life, Gilbert Davis on September 3, 1948 in Hamilton. Gilbert preceded her in death on June 24, 1983. Guyla was a homemaker, and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She lived in several communities, Hamilton, Perrin, Pottsville, Gustine, and Goldthwaite, with her husband who was a superintendent in public schools for many years. In 1981 she and Gilbert moved to Stephenville.
Guyla is survived by her daughters, Brenda and husband Ronnie McKinney of Stephenville, and Barbara and husband Ken Luker of Stephenville; daughter-in-law, Lenora Davis of Gustine; grandchildren, Jerrod and wife Angela Davis, Steven Davis, Travis and wife Kimmie McKinney, Jason and wife Kristi McKinney, Kim and husband Gerrit Schouten, and Kendra Loutherback; great grandchildren, Tyler, Carson, Karlee, Camden, Kallyn, Luke, Cooper, Jayden, Lanie, Pierce, Edward, Eileen, Gunnar, and Karter.
Besides her parents, and husband, Gilbert; Guyla was also preceded in death by and infant son, Allen Davis; son, Danny Davis; grandson-in-law, John Loutherback; sisters, Leota Magness, Frances McPherson, and Maye Applewhite; and a brother, Claude Rudd.
The Davis family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the charity of the donor's choice.
