Glynda Charlene Lane

Glynda Charlene Lane, 77, of Stephenville, died Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at her residence. A Visitation with Glynda's family will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, April 13th at Stephenville Funeral Home. Glynda was cremated and as per her wishes she will be interred at a later date at Smith Springs Cemetery. Glynda was born on September 11, 1934 in Stephenville to Charlie and Golda Hook. She graduated from Stephenville High School. Glynda married J. C. Lane, Jr. on December 18, 1953 in Stephenville. He preceded her in death, January 10, 2007. Glynda and J. C. lived west of Stephenville, and throughout their marriage Glynda managed Lane's Lake. To this union was born two children, Mark and Kyra. Glynda loved being outdoors tending to her animals and lawn work. She enjoyed fishing and hunting with her family. In her earlier years she enjoyed playing softball and was very involved in the building of McCleskey Baseball Field in Stephenville. Over the years, Glynda took great pride in helping maintain and improve the Smith Springs Cemetery. Glynda is survived by a son, Mark Lane and wife Denise of Glen Rose; daughter, Kyra McLain of Stephenville; sisters, Joyce McDonald of Mineral Wells and Sharron Rainey of Stephenville; brother, Kenneth Hook of Stephenville; grandsons, Ryan McLain, Jeremy Lane, Collin Lane, and Colten Lane; great grandchildren, Abbie, Allie, and Corbin Lane.
