Gloria Jean Helms

Gloria Jean Helms, 84, of Stephenville, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009, in Stephenville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 3, 2009 at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Richard Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at De Leon Cemetery in De Leon. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Jean was born, October 3, 1924 to the late Jeff and Pauline Smith Loudermilk. She married Johnnie Helms on March 6, 1946 in Weatherford, Texas. He preceded her in death on October 28, 1964. Jean was a member of the Church of Christ, and had lived in Stephenville over 43 years. She was a sales clerk working several years at Bealls Dept. Store. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kaye and Hardy Tidwell of Stephenville; son and daughter-in-law, Ted and LaDonna Helms of Stephenville; grandchildren, Trent and Lacie Tidwell, Todd and Liz Tidwell, Tiffany and Rob Keasler, Chris and Missy Helms, Greg and Kristin Hensley, and Valerie and Jeff Morrison; great grandchildren, Dylan, Zachary, Savannah, David, Bryce, Blake, Dylan, Sydney, Delaney, and Riley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Helms; and by a brother, Garland Loudermilk.
