Glenda Kay Jackson

May 11, 1947—February 2, 2022

Glenda Kay Jackson, 74, of Stephenville passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.

Glenda was born on May 11, 1947 in Gorman to the late Doris Macon Clark and Jesse Clark. She married Phillip Dean Jackson on June 24, 1967.  Glenda spent over 55 years as a LVN working at Stephenville Hospital, helping deliver a lot of babies in Labor and Delivery. She also was very proud of the work she did in Labor and Delivery and the Burn Unit in Houston, Texas. She then worked as charge nurse in several Stephenville nursing homes and did home health for several years. She also worked as a volunteer nurse at the Hope Clinic when her health was better.  She was a member of the Red Hat Travelers Society, Retired Stephenville Hospital Nurses Group, Texas Steel Guitar Association and other groups.  She sang for the Cowboys for Christ band and they traveled to various stock shows around Texas to perform. Glenda was also an ordained minister operating Full Armor of God Ministries. Along with spreading God's love, she performed many weddings for friends & loved ones. She was an exceptionally generous and giving person, who would very often be found giving food, money or even a place to stay to anyone she thought had a need. She loved her family and friends, and she never met a stranger.  She knew everybody.  Glenda's home church was Western Hills Church and Family Worship Center, but has been to many other churches & most recently attended Cornerstone Assembly of God.  She lived her first 18 years in De Leon, then moved to the "big city" of Stephenville to attend Nursing College. She has spent most of her life in Stephenville.

Glenda is survived by her husband, Phillip; son, Phillip Jackson, II; daughter, J’Cle and husband Lenny Taegel; one grandson, Keith Jackson; and five granddaughters, Callie Jackson & Tyler, Camey, Trinity, and Kemah Taegel; sister, Brenda Gay Gilman; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Besides her parents, Glenda was also preceded in death by two sisters, Joan Johnson and Linda Strawbridge; and a brother, Nick Clark.

The Jackson family will set a memorial for Glenda at a later date.
