George Reynolds, 66, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 in Fort Worth, from injuries sustained in a car accident in Stephenville. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Travis Priddy officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at Stephenville Funeral Home. George was born and raised in Stephenville. After graduating from Stephenville High School in 1962, he joined the U. S. Navy and served on both the USS Everglades and the USS Hornet. After an honorable discharge from the Navy he attended the Police Academy at Tarleton State University and worked in Comanche County and Brownwood law enforcement. He later became a cab driver in Fort Worth, and was also employed as a cross country truck driver. George loved and was loved by his family, and had many friends. He loved to play cards and board games, especially when he won. He was an avid reader, and a big Harry Potter fan. He loved all animals, especially cats. Even though George's health declined in recent years, he never quit enjoying life and pursuing his interest. George is survived by two sisters, Jacqueline and husband Nick Nims of Fort Worth and Hazel Grissom of Stephenville; aunt, Melva Anderson of Tyler; cousins, JoNell Anderson and James Anderson of Tyler, Billye Cook of Marble Falls, and Judy Koch of Richardson; nieces, Melody Fritz of Arlington and Wendy Mills of Fort Worth; nephews, Zachary Ward of Stephenville and Jack Grissom of Dallas; 3 grand-nephews and 1 grand-niece; and his beloved cat, Harry George attended church all his life, most recently attending World Ministry Outreach. He will be missed by all who knew him, but we take comfort in knowing that he is with our Lord, and is at peace.
