George Mclain

George McLain, 81, of Stephenville passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013. Services are pending with Stephenville Funeral Home. George was born May 8, 1932 in Washington D.C. to the late George Henry McLain M.D. and Josephine Marie Parrish. He was a graduate of the University of Maryland and received a Bachelor of Psychology. George worked for the U.S. State Department and had been stationed in Indonesia, India, Bulgaria and Sweden. George married Marilyn Elaine Melton on January 18, 1985 in Berryville, Virginia. She preceded him in death on October 8, 2011. He was a veteran having served in the United States Navy. George was a member of the First Christian Church, Lions Club and a founding member of the Oakdale Volunteer Fire Department. George is survived by a daughter, Diane McLain Skillicorn of Weyers Cave, Virginia; a son David McLain of Berryville, Virginia; granddaughter, Lynnmarie Lanning; grandson, Kristof Springer; granddaughter, Hannah McLain; 2 great grandchildren.
