George Maxwell Housewright

Stephenville George Maxwell Housewright, 75, of Stephenville passed away June 30, 2010. Memorial Service: 1:00 PM Saturday, July 3, 2010 at the St. Luke's Episcopal Church with Father Calvin Garvin officiating. A reception of celebration will follow after the service. George was born August 26, 1934 in Dallas to the late Byron and Waldrine Maxwell Housewright. He married Pat Clark on April 29, 1961. George served in the US Air Force from 1954 to 1958 as a Drill Sergeant. He graduated from North Texas in 1960 with a BBA degree in Economics and Business, in 1964 he earned a Master's degree at Hardin Simmons University. In 1972 George earned a PhD from the University of Arkansas. He coached the golf team and taught Economics and Business at Hardin Simmons University. George came to Tarleton State University in 1974, retiring in 1994 as the Business Department head. He was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. He is survived by his wife Pat of Stephenville; son, Byron Housewright of De Pere, WI, and a sister Priscella King of Lubbock. Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 595 N.
