Gary Garner

October 18, 1965 — February 5, 2025

Gary Eugene Garner, 59, of Stephenville, TX, left his home on earth to be with his savior on February 5, 2025.

Gary was born on October 18, 1965 in Stephenville, TX to parents John and Doris Garner. He is described by many as a free and loving spirit, he adventurously chose to move across the country to Savannah, Georgia for his career at the time. Making friends easily and everywhere he went, he was sure to have good times anywhere his life lead him.

Gary was a man of many interests, ranging from cooking and fishing to maintaining old friendships and consistently trying to better himself. Never having claimed to be a perfect person, as surely no one is, he often had the ability to recognize wrongs and made an effort to be better. Choosing to be baptized in his adulthood was something Gary was very proud of; his brother David recalls a time when Gary excitedly called him to share the news of his baptism.

Gary was a beloved member of the Stephenville community, very much loved by his parents, siblings, and classmates. The people closest to Gary throughout his lifetime have only positive memories and comments to make about him, describing him as loving, caring, always helpful, a friend to everyone, and loved by all who knew him. With a memorable smile and positive attitude, Gary was a welcomed addition to any gathering and will surely be missed by many. Gary is survived by his five siblings - Ed Garner, David Garner, Ann Stephen De Jong, Dan Garner, and Stephen Garner, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial service for Gary will be on February 22nd at 2:00 PM at Stephenville Funeral Home.
