Galen Godwin

Loving father and friend, Galen Godwin, 76, of Stephenville, died Tuesday, March 1, 2011. Everyone is invited to attend a gathering for his family and friends to celebrate his life at 3:00 PM Saturday March 5, 2011 at the American Legion located at 801 E. Washington (across the street from his home). Galen was born on November 25, 1934 in Windon Kansas to the late Cleo and Roberta Mann Godwin. He has resided in Stephenville for the last 37 years. Galen was an Army Veteran during the Korean War. He retired as an electrician. Galen is survived by his daughter Shirley Ann Godwin Overbey and husband Michael Ward of Hohenwald, TN ; brother, Robert Duane Godwin and wife Nony of Stephenville; sister, LaVonne Godwin Platt and husband Dwight of Newton, Kansas; nieces, Holly Miller; Marcille Godwin, and Kamala Platt; nephews, Edward Godwin and Richard Platt. Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
