Farris Ray Morris

Farris Ray Morris 76, of Bluff Dale, passed away Friday, February 8, 2008 at his residence. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday February 11, 2008 at Bluff Dale Baptist Church in Bluff Dale with Rev. Michael Jones officiating. Burial to follow at Glenn Cemetery in Hood County. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday at the Stephenville Funeral Home. Farris was born on November 26, 1931 in Hood County, Texas to the late Joseph and Lemma Eberhart Morris. He married Peggy Stroud on June 10, 1950 in Hood County. Farris was a member of Bluff Dale Baptist Church. He served in the US Army during the Korean conflict, where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a commercial construction worker. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Morris of Bluff Dale; three daughters, Diane Overstreet ; Kristina Morris; Connie and husband Dwayne Davis all of Bluff Dale; sisters, Joy and husband Louis Randolph of Stephenville; Geneva and husband Jimmy Bramlett of Fort Worth; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Farris Ray Morris, Jr. his parents; four brothers and one sister.
