Evelyn Cox Gildner

Evelyn (Cox) Gildner, 87, of Hico passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2013 in Hamilton. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Harry Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Johnsville Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Evelyn was born on May 26, 1925 in Erath County to the late Dan and Lettie Parnell Cox. She married Harold ‘Chuck' Gildner on January 1, 1947 in Stephenville. Chuck preceded her in death on May 31, 2011. Evelyn was a member of the Johnsville Church of Christ, a church she loved and was very active in. She lived in Erath County most of her life, and moved down to Hico in 1993. Evelyn spent several years of her life as a ceramics instructor. Evelyn is survived by her children, Nancy Freeman of Hubbard, Harold Gildner, Jr. of Allentown, PA, and Robert Lee Gildner of Hico; brother, Wiley Cox of Stephenville; sister, Delma Mayfield of Stephenville; grandchildren, Wanda, Richard Jr., Robert Wayne, Brandon, Harold III, and Samantha; fourteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
