Ernestine Runyon, 87, of Stephenville, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 7, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm, Saturday, January 10, 2009, at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dan Murray officiating. Interment will follow in the West End Cemetery in Stephenville. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Stephenville Funeral Home. Ernestine was born on October 17, 1921, in Stephenville, Texas to the late Mable Hancock Knox Bellomy and husband. She grew up in the Smith Springs area, and graduated from Stephenville High School. She attended John Tarleton College studying business. Her favorite job was being a good wife and a loving mother to her three children, but after they were all in school, she went to work at the Texas A&M Research Center as a senior accountant, where she was employed for over 20 years. Ernestine married J.H. Runyon, the love of her life, on January 21,1940. They were married 56 happy and wonderful years before he passed away 12 years ago. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Stephenville, for 69 years. She had taught many classes of Sunday School, Training Union, and children's activities through the years, and had taught a ladies' Sunday School class until about 4 years ago. She loved her church and she loved her Lord Jesus Christ. Ernestine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, J.H. and a son, Wade Felix. She is survived by her daughter, Dee Ann Weaver and husband Max of Waco; her Son, Timothy and wife Frances of Stephenville; three granddaughters, Ashley Weaver of Austin, Mallory and Jayla Runyon of Stephenville; and one grandson Luke Runyon of Stephenville; a brother, Elwood Knox and wife Nellie of Stephenville; a niece, Gleda Swink and husband John of Stephenville; and several great nieces and nephews.
