Ernest Gregory, 84, of Stephenville, died Friday, January 2, 2015 in Stephenville. Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with John Trammel officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery. Ernest was born on April 6, 1930 in Throckmorton, Texas. He married Elsie (Pack) Lowery on February 13, 1964. He became a Christian in 1952, and was a member of the Baptist faith. He moved from Throckmorton to Stephenville as a child where he lived the rest of his life. He worked as a boilermaker, and a paint contractor. Ernest was an animal lover. He always had horses, hogs, goats, or whatever else came up. Other than working with animals he loved to fish. He always had a boat and was ready to go to the lake. Ernest was a member of Local 96 Boilermaker Association, a longtime member of the Erath County Sheriff's Posse, and the Odd Fellows Lodge. Survivors include his loving wife, Elsie; daughter, Brenda Self of Arlington; son, Terry Lowery and wife Tomile of Throckmorton, 4 grandchildren, Misti DeLoera of Arlington, Julie Longway and husband Rick of Arlington, Matt Lowery and wife Jennifer of Cresson, Curtis Lowery and wife Katie of Snyder; 12 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Ernest is preceded in death by his parents, L. I. and Ethel Green Gregory; brothers, Elmer, Bert, Leroy, Afton, and Bruce; sisters, Micki, Cassie, and Mary; son-in-law, Fred Self; and granddaughter, Leslie Self
