Elsie Louise Pack Gregory, 96, passed away peacefully, on December 4, 2024, in Arlington, TX. She was born on August 15, 1928, in Stephenville, TX, to George Albert Pack and Mary Ola (McLaughlin) Pack and a large, loving, family. On September 2, 1945, she married TG Lowery and had 2 beautiful children, Brenda and Terry. Then on February 13, 1964, she married Ernest Virgil Gregory and had many wonderful years with him until his passing on January 2, 2015. After Ernest’s death Elsie moved to Arlington to live with her daughter, Brenda.
. Elsie had several jobs in her younger years, she worked as a seamstress at Tackett sewing room, managed apartments, worked on their hog farm, and her favorite job was working part time at Gibbs dress shop on the square in downtown Stephenville. She loved being involved in the Erath County Sherriff Posse Ladies auxiliary. She spent many fun hours participating in parades, rodeos, horse shows and dances. Elsie had the sweetest, kind soul, and you could never overlook her grace and caring for others. She was affiliated and active with the Crestview Missionary Baptist Church of Arlington.
Elsie has always been surrounded by lots of family, and up until her last days she loved shopping, playing 42, card games, fishing with grandkids, and playing games on her phone, I pad, and last week at their family Thanksgiving she was singing on the karaoke machine. She was always a good sport and liked to have fun.
Elsie is survived by her daughter, Brenda Lowery Self of Arlington; son, Terry Lowery and Tomile of Throckmorton; grandchildren, Misti DeLoera of Arlington, Julie Longway and Rick of Arlington, Matthew Lowery and Robyn of Euless, and Curtis Lowery and Katie of Throckmorton; as well as 12 Great Grandchildren; and 11 Great-Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; father and mother, George and Ola Pack; 6 sisters, Leona Driver, Linnie Mae Hale, Evie Morgan, Juanita Ratliff, Lola Bell Pack, Thelma Howell; 4 brothers, Bert Pack, Arnold Pack, Blackie Pack, Willsmith Pack(died at birth).
