Ella Katherine Pettey

Ella Katherine McCann Pettey, 67, of Stephenville, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2007 in Stephenville. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Weldon Branham officiating. Interment will follow at the Greens Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 7, 2007 from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the Stephenville Funeral Home. Ella Katherine was born April 3, 1940 in Erath County to the late Jesse William and Ella Marie McCann. She married Walter Weldon Pettey on September 20, 1958 in Stephenville and he preceded her in death on October 15, 1984. Ella has resided in Erath County all of her life. She was a seamstress and a Baptist. She is survived by two sons, Walter Weldon Pettey and wife Gretta of New Hamshire, and Roy Gene Pettey and wife Laurel of Stephenville; daughter, Stephna Lou Pettey of Stephenville; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five brothers; and three sisters. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Spikes; and a brother, James McCann.
