Edna Vern (Engler) Ray

Edna Vern Engler Ray, 91, of Stephenville, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.

Funeral services for Edna will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at West End Cemetery.  Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at Stephenville Funeral Home.

Edna was born on February 23, 1931, in Stephenville to the late Otis Albert and Nettie Faye Williams Engler.  She married Craig Waymon Ray on March 21, 1947 in Stephenville.  Craig preceded her in death on January 19, 2005.  Edna was a farmer and a dairyman’s wife, and was a homemaker.  She loved to garden and cook, and a member of the Church of Christ.  Edna was a lifelong resident of Erath County.

Edna is survived by her children, Linda and her husband Hump Henderson, Elaine Carpenter, Barbara Ray and Roger Beam; Albert and his wife Debbie Ray, and Clayton Ray; grandchildren, D’Anna Green, Jonathan Green, David Green, Chris Carpenter, April and her husband Cory Martin, Kelcie Ray, and Cameron Ray and Kiela; a granddaughter-in-law, Laurey Jones Green; aunt, Lela Ferguson of Granbury; great grandchildren, Madelyn Martin, Cooper Martin, Shiloh Ramsay, Caden Green, and Ethan Green; her family of caregiving Angels, Paula Fonville, Rhonda Pruitt, Sherry Suggs, and Morgan Kinsey; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many many friends.

Besides her parents, and husband, Craig Waymon; Edna was also preceded in death by a grandson, Tom Green; granddaughter, Holly Green; and three brothers and their wives.
