Earl J (Red) Jones

Earl J (Red) Jones, 82, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 at his home in Bluff Dale. Services will be held Monday, March 11, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Wayne Cooper officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors at West End Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Earl was born on October 19, 1930 to the late William Anderson Jones and Ida Louzeta Tallent in Paluxy, Texas. He graduated from Tarleton State University with a degree in Accounting. Earl married Ruby Nell Randolph on November 27, 1958 in Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on October 31, 1997. He was veteran in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. Earl was a Lifelong resident of Stephenville and a Baptist. He was also a member of the VFW and American Legion. Earl was a True Gentleman. Earl is survived by his daughters, Sherry Jones of Sherman, Carolyn Jones of Stephenville, Mary Jones of Bluff Dale, Sara and husband Mark Hopkins of Arlington; son, Leonard Jones and wife Gayle of Stephenville; grandchildren, Sid Artecona, Dwayne Raymond, Sheila Lee, Denise Borchardt, Adam Jones, Amanda Jones, Dustin Jones, Marcus Hopkins, Ashley Hopkins Stous, Travis Lujan, BJ Hill, Curtis Hill, Angel Jones, Joseph Shockley; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and a host of family and friends. He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Ollie Jones and Greta Earl Jones.
