Earl Gordon Gooch Sr.

Earl Gordon Gooch, Sr., 83, of Stephenville died Thursday, June 10, 2010 in Stephenville. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at the Double N Cowboy Church in Dublin with Pastor Jimmy Holleman officiating. Visitation will be held 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday at Stephenville Funeral Home Earl was born January 3, 1927 in DeLeon to the late Blant and Mettie Kimmell Gooch. He married Peggy Ruth Jones, July 30, 1949 in Clairette. She preceded him in death April 24, 2008. Earl was retired from Santa Fe Railroad. He was a U. S. Army veteran, and was a member of the Double N Cowboy Church in Dublin, and had lived in Stephenville most of his life. Survivors include 3 sons, Earl Jr. and wife Regina of Stephenville, Ernie and wife Trena of Stephenville, John and wife Michele of Wimberly; daughter JoAnn Guest and husband Steven Pepper of Stephenville; brother, Wayne Gooch of Stephenville; sister Evelyn Gooch of Sapulpa, OK; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Ruth Earlene in 1950. Family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Assn., or the Alzheimer's Assn.
